Who can rent plastic pallets or crates?

Norsk Lastbærer Pool was established to solve challenges across all stages of the grocery value chain.
The goal was to develop an efficient, standardized, and sustainable system.

Our plastic pallets are therefore available for rental to wholesalers and suppliers in the grocery sector.

Customers operating automation systems (e.g. conveyor belts, pallet feeders, flow racks, etc.) must complete and submit a certification form for NLP plastic pallets used in automated environments.

Use of RFID on load carriers

If you, as a customer, plan to implement RFID reading on NLP load carriers in your material flow, we ask that you involve NLP as early as possible in the project.

NLP has extensive experience and expertise in RFID usage on our load carriers, including factors that ensure high read accuracy and optimal scanning conditions.

Please contact us for guidance.

How does the return system work?

Our return system is based on a circular pooling model, where customers rent our products and the load carriers circulate continuously between NLP and customers.

When you register as a customer, you gain access to our digital customer portal, where you can easily place orders for the load carriers you need.

Load carriers are dispatched either from our main warehouse or from a wholesaler’s local warehouse.
Empty carriers are then returned to us for washing, inspection, and refurbishment, before being redistributed.

What does it cost to use NLP’s system?

If you choose to use our plastic pallets and crates, you pay a daily rental fee.
This means you are charged a small amount for each day the load carrier is in your store or warehouse.

You can find a full overview of our pricing here.

How can NLP simplify my workday?

Our load carriers are designed to simplify operations through:

Standardized dimensions, making them ideal for both automation and in-store display

Improved product protection during transport, helping to reduce food waste

Better ergonomics and handling efficiency in warehouse environments

You can read more about our logistics system for suppliers and wholesalers here.

Can I use my own transport?

Yes, you can use your own transport.

You can collect load carriers directly from us or from a wholesaler.
The only requirements are that you:

  • Are registered as a customer

  • Place an order in our system

  • Collect the goods when they are ready

You will receive an email with details on where and when the products can be collected.

Are the crates hygienically clean?

All plastic crates are washed when they arrive at our main warehouse in Langhus.
However, they do not meet official food safety authority hygiene requirements.

This means that all food products must be packed in separate protective packaging before being placed in our crates.

Can I purchase NLP’s products?

No, it is unfortunately not possible to purchase our products.
NLP plastic pallets and crates are only available through a rental model with a fixed daily rate.
